Barrow Announces Statesboro Job Fair

  Congressman Barrow said the Statesboro fairs is one of a series of events that will be held in the 12th District while Congress is away from Washington for the month of August.


  The Statesboro job fair is this Saturday, August 16, from 9 a.m. till noon in theNessmith-Lane Conference Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University.


  In addition to helping with employment, job seekers will participate in career building workshops, including resume writing and best-practices for job interviews.


  The jobs fair is open exclusively for veteran job seekers, active-duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses starting at 9:00 a.m.  At 8:00 a.m., veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses can participate in a career building workshop prior to meeting with prospective employers. 


  At 10:00 a.m., the jobs fair will be open to the general public. The general public can participate in the career building workshops at 9:00 a.m., prior to meeting with employers.
