23 arrests in month long drug operation

Written by  Tuesday, 12 August 2014 09:19

Investigators with the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team which include the Bulloch County Sheriff’s office, the Statesboro Police and Georgia Southern Police departments,  conducted a series of operations aimed at reducing drug activity in certain areas of Statesboro-Bulloch County prior to the beginning of fall semester at Georgia Southern University.  Oprations consisted of a combination of concentrated patrols in high intensity drug areas, the use of confidential informants, undercover purchases of narcotics, and the service of several search warrants.  In total 23 individuals were arrested on a variety of felonies.

Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said “Investigators hope that these operations will help reduce overall street crimes and deter local sellers from setting up shop as students return to the area in the coming weeks.”
