GBI: Burglaries, robberies may be linked

Written by  Monday, 04 August 2014 09:44

Sometime between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday burglars broke into three businesses on U.S. Highway 80…Auto Service, Red Board Barbecue and T&J Autos.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation  is looking into a possible link with an armed robbery of the Brooklet Dollar General Store.  Shortly before 10 p.m. July 20 two men with guns entered the store and robbed the clerk.

About 11:30 p.m. July 12 an armed man robbed PoJo’s Convenience store on U.S. Highway 80 near Statesboro.

Investigators said no one was injured in the crimes.

Although at this time there is no definite evidence the incidents are related, Statesboro GBI Special Agent Cyrus Purdiman said his office is looking into a possible link.
