Dr. Shawn Williams new Medical Director of Willingway

Dr. Shwan Williams Dr. Shwan Williams   Dr. Shawn Williams has been named Medical Director of Willingway succeeding Dr. Bobby Mooney who has served in the position 1995.  He joined Willingway as staff physician in 2011 and was named Director of Medical Education in 2013. Dr. Williams is dedicated to educating and empowering patients who are affected by alcohol and drug addiction.


  Barbara Reid, Willingway C.E.O., said Mooney will remain an active member of the Board of Trustees and continue to have valuable input on Willingway’s future.


  Dr. Williams received his Bachelor of Science degree at Mount Vernon Nazarene College in 1997.  He attended medical school at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky.  Upon graduation, Dr. Williams completed his residency at St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio. He became board certified in Addiction Medicine in December of 2012.  In his work, Dr. Williams strives to educate the public and health professionals on addiction and addiction recovery.  He has spent many hours conducting presentations on addiction medicine at different national and local conferences.


  Reid said they excited about the expertise Williams brings as both Medical Director and Director of Medical Education.  "We look forward to his leadership and guidance for our staff as we continue to put the care of our patients as our number one goal.”
