Search warrant leads to drugs, animal cruelty

Ray Walker, JrRay Walker, Jr  The execution of a search warrant resulted in the arrests of two men, drugs and evidence of dog fighting.


  Monday investigators with the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team went to a residence in the 100 block of West Jones Avenue in Statesboro after evidence indicated drugs were being sold there.  The report from the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department said two occupants of the residence, later identified as 37 year old Ray Walker, Jr., of Portal and 32 year old Demetrius Millen of Statesboro, fled on foot but were apprehended.  A search resulted in the seizure of several bags of cocaine, marijuana, and MDPV, also known by the street name “Molly” and similar to MDMA or “Ecstasy”.

  CST investigators also found three injured dogs and equipment “consistent with the use of these dogs for fighting.”  The injured animals were removed by officers with Bulloch County Humane Enforcement.


  Both men are in the Bulloch County Jail each charged with of possession of and intent to sell cocaine, marijuana and possession of MDPV a/k/a/ Molly, tampering with evidence, cruelty to animals, aggravated cruelty to animals, obstruction and possession of and/or used of a drug related object.
