Katrina Denise Ledford was to have gone on trial Monday for the death of Michael Anthony Riley had she opted for a jury trial. Recently Riley’s wife, Antoinette Braddy Riley, pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
Tarell Momon, an inmate at Dooly State Prison in Unadilla at the time of the murder, is accused or arranging the deadly attack on Riley. Ledford originally met Momon and the two began a relationship when she worked at Washington State Prison in Georgia where he was an inmate. She was fired. When Momon was transferred to Dooly State Prison she continued to visit him there. Momon, Ledford and Antoinnette Riley began talking and together hatched a plot that ended in Michael Riley’s death. Riley said she understood her husband was just to be intimidated, not killed. Momon told her to leave to back door open and someone would "take care" of her husband.
Terrance Ray Griswold, 28, and 29 year old Travis Lorenzo Berrian, both from Augusta, were also charged in the murder. Berrian was killed in a shootout with probations officers during an arrest attempt.
Hearing dates for Momon and Griswold, who have both pleaded not guilty, have not been set.
