Man shoots at his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend

Written by  Thursday, 03 July 2014 11:32

Shortly before 4:30 Wednesday afternoon deputies with the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department went to the 100 block of Woodyard Court in Brooklet to investigate a report of shots fired at several people.  In a report Sheriff Lynn Anderson said the victims told deputies they fled to a home on Railroad Street in Brooklet.  They told deputies that 23 year old Orlando Rock of Pamela Way in Statesboro had driven to his girlfriend’s residence and found her ex-boyfriend and several other people in the yard speaking with her.  Rock reportedly fired several shots at the man before chasing him on foot.  The ex-boyfriend eluded Rock and was picked up by the other witnesses and driven from the scene.  No one was injured but some bullets struck the ex-boyfriend’s car.

Deputies arrested Rock after stopping his car on the Brooklet-Denmark Road.  Sheriff Anderson said evidence showed that a handgun and shotgun found in the car had been discharged.

Rock is being held without bond at the Bulloch County Jail charged with aggravated assault, pointing a firearm at another, possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime and criminal trespass.
