With a little more than a month still to go in the summer recess, the Bulloch County School system is already gearing up for the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.

One of the first things on the calendar for the public is an open house at each of the system's campuses Wednesday, July 30, from 4 till 6 p.m. at the elementary schools and 5 till 7 p.m. for the middle and high schools.

The first day of school is Friday, August 1.  A month later will be the first holiday, Monday, September 1, for Labor Day.  The students will also be out the next day, Tuesday, September 2, for Professional Development Day.

Other breaks for students are Fall Break in October, Professional Development Day and Thanksgiving holidays in November.  The two week semester and Christmas/New Year holiday break begins December 22.

In 2015 breaks include two Professional Development Days, Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Spring Break and Memorial Day.

To help parents and students prepare for the new school year the Bullock County Board of Education has development a Back to School Toolkit  link on their web homepage at .
