Summer sex offender check results in warrants

Jack BraggJack Bragg Last week investigators with the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation’s Division, the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team, and State Probation teamed up to conduct unannounced site compliance checks on all registered sex offenders living in Bulloch County.  These unannounced checks take place as public schools are in recess for the summer and children are more likely to be active in the community.  According to the Sheriff's office report three men were found to have employment or residence violations.

They were identified as: Jack Bragg, convicted of child molestation in Screven County, failure to report changes in his employment; James Elbert Dickerson, convicted of child molestation in Dekalb County, failure to report changes in employment, and; Michael Benemon, convicted of Statutory Rape in Bulloch County, determined to have absconded from Bulloch County.  Arrest warrants were issued for all 3 men.

Benemon’s case will be turned over to the US Marshals Service as a possible candidate for a Federal Adam Walsh Act violation, as a sex offender moving from state to state without complying with registry requirements. Investigators believe that Benemon has possibly moved out of state.

Sheriff Anderson asks that anyone with information on a sex offender who has moved or is otherwise not reporting required information to contact Cpt Todd Hutchens at 912-764-1787 or submit an anonymous tip to This email address is being protected from spambots.
