Among the items on the agenda is a resolution for the Statesboro Police Department to apply for the available 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) in the amount of $13,640.00. Forty-five percent, or $6,138, of the grant is being awarded to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office under disparity.
The council will also consider a resolution adopting maximum fees for towing and storage of illegally parked vehicles.
Council will hold public hearings to authorize the mayor to execute a contract with the Statesboro Arts Council, Inc., another with the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority/Main Street and a third with the Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. to market Statesboro and Bulloch County, using proceeds from the Hotel/Motel Tax.
Council will consider resolutions relating to the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2015 Budget.
Also the council will consider contract negotiations with Parker Engineering and Hussey, Gay, Bell and DeYoung for proposed water improvements for Savannah Avenue between East Main Street and Gentilly Road.
A work session will be scheduled to discuss changes in the city’s alcohol ordinances.
The meeting will be open to the public.
