Summer Arts Scholarships for Students

Written by  Thursday, 12 June 2014 09:11

Students from each of Bulloch County Schools’ 16  campuses have the opportunity to explore the Averitt Center for the Arts’ summer courses thanks to the $100 scholarships  provided  by the Statesboro Service League. The  recipients were  recently announced during a special reception at the Averitt Center, and the students were recognized at their individual school’s awards day programs as well.

The Averitt Center for the Arts and the Statesboro Service League have partnered for five years to help further youth arts education.  Fine arts teachers within the school system nominate students for these merit-based scholarships. The Statesboro Service League raises the $1,600 needed to fund the scholarships through their major community service projects like its annual Attic Sale.
