Two Juveniles Arrested for Entering Autos

Written by  Wednesday, 28 May 2014 22:39

The Statesboro Police Department has arrested two juveniles for multiple cases of Entering Autos that occurred over Memorial Day Weekend.

About 4 a.m. Saturday two suspicious males fled from Corporal Nick Davis when he attempted to make contact with them in the area of South Main Street near the Statesboro Library.  Corporal Davis was able to locate one subject who was identified as the subject of a runaway juvenile investigation being conducted by the Bulloch County Sheriffs Office.  The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.

A couple of hours later, about 6:30 am, Statesboro Officers found evidence that an Entering Auto incident had occurred in the vicinity of Statesboro Library.  Several other similar incidents were then located in the area or reported to the Statesboro Police Department.  Investigation lead to the same juvenile Corporal Davis had taken into custody earlier.  The juvenile was charged with 11 counts of Entering Auto.

After determining the identity of the other juvenile, he, too, was arrested and charged with the 11 counts of Entering Auto.  Both juveniles were transported to the ClaxtonRegional Youth Detention Center awaiting further court action.

Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact Detective Ben Purvis at the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.  You may also submit anonymous information to www.tipsoft.com or by texting a tip to “TIPSSPD plus your message” to 274637 (CRIMES).
