The Mayor and Statesboro City Council will hold their regular mid-monthly meeting today in the council chambers of City Hall at 5:15 pm
Among the many items on the agenda is the awarding a contract to Sikes Brothers Inc. for the resurfacing of several city streets. Sikes Brothers' bid was for $667,403.20, based on unit price extensions. The Engineering Department requests approval to spend up to the budgeted amount of $673,845.95 in order to resurface additional street mileage. Costs for additional work to be based on contractor’s unit bid prices. Improvements to be paid for through a combination of $209,567.95 in funds from the Georgia Department of Transportation $464,278 from 2007 SPLOST funds.
Council is also expected to schedule a Public Hearing for the FY2015 Budget for Thursday June 5, 2014 at 4:00 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Other money matters including repainting the exterior of the City Hall and Drummer Building, the purchase of a vehicle and several refuse containers.
An alcohol license application for Fuzzy’s Taco Shop and several other items are also on the agenda for the meeting which will be open to the public to attend and participte.
