OTC adds deans

Jan MooreJan Moore  One of the three is Statesboro Mayor Jan Moore.  Moore will serve as dean of students.  She will begin July 1st.  Currently she is special education supervisor/behavior intervention specialist with the Bulloch County Board of Education. 

 

  School Superintendent Charles Wilson said he is sorry to see her leave but with her position at Ogeechee Tech she will still work with the board on dual enrollment.

Thomas SafrinThomas Safrin

  Thomas Safrin is the new Dean for Academic Affairs.  He has been lead instructor in the College's Criminal Justice program since 2010.  While working under the authority of the U. S. Department of State, Safrin supervised teams which trained police forces in Iraq and Jordan. The training involved distance education, classroom instruction, and one-on-one mentoring.  He has held positions as a training officer/director for several law enforcement groups in the United States.

 

Jennifer Witherington Jennifer Witherington   Jennifer Witherington has been named at the new dean for distance and general education at Ogeechee Tech.  Some of her duties during her six years at the school includes working with the faculty to develop new courses, implement changes in curriculum and courses, interpret regulations of the Technical College System of Georgia and purchasing technological resources.  She was finalist in Ogeechee Tech's Leadership Award and has been won the Support Staff of the Year award at the school.
