2nd Arrest in SHS Sexual Assault Investigations

 Luke Edward ParksLuke Edward Parks Luke Edward Parks turned himself in to the Statesboro Police Department Thursday.  Parks is charged with Sexual Exploitation of Children and Sexual Assault. 

 

  The investigation began one week ago last Friday, April 25, when the Statesboro Police Department was notified that Parks, a Statesboro High School Assistant Coach, was engaged in a relationship of a questionable nature with a 16-year-old female student at the high school.

 

  This past Monday, April 28, the Statesboro Police received information that Statesboro High School Assistant Coach Jeffery Tyler Crowder had engaged in sexual contact with a 16-year-old female student.  Crowder was arrested on school grounds Wednesday and charged with sexual assault.

 

  Police say each case has a separate victim and the cases are not being investigated as related.

 

  Any student that was contacted inappropriately, either in person or electronically (phone, smart phone apps, social media, etc.), by Luke Parks or Jeffery Crowder or has knowledge of Parks or Crowder contacting students is encouraged to contact the Statesboro Police Department.  Information can be submitted anonymously by going to www.tipsoft.com or by texting “TIPSSPD plus your message” to 274637 (CRIMES).
