Georgia Southern University hosts the Grammy-winning country music trio Lady Antebellum in their “Take Me Downtown Tour 2014” as the headlining band at tonight’s Spring Concert at 8 p.m. at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
Known for hits such as “I Run To You,” “American Honey,” “Just A Kiss” and others, the band includes Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. Five of their seven career Grammy’s wins in 2011 were won for their single “Need You Now.” Their latest album, “Golden,” features “Downtown,” the highest-debuting single in the band’s career.
Joe Nichols, whose hits include “Gimmie That Girl,” “The Impossible” and “Sunny and 75” among others, will perform as one of the opening acts for Lady Antebellum. Kristian Bush, one half of the platinum-selling country duo Sugarland, whose songs include “Baby Girl,” “Stay” and others will also be an opening act.
