Victim in shooting incident dies

  The victim of a shooting incident last week has died and charges against the assailant have been upgraded.

 

  A press release Wednesday said the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department received word early Wednesday morning that 43 year old Keith Brannen of Plantation Mobile Home Park, who was shot in the head May 22 at a residence on B Stubbs Road, died at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah as a result of his injuries. 

 

James Jeffrey StubbsJames Jeffrey Stubbs  The suspect in the case, 52 year old James Jeffrey Stubbs, was arrested at the time of the shooting and charged with Aggravated Assault.  Since that time he has been housed without bond at the Bulloch County Jail.  Stubbs’s charges have now been upgraded to include one count of Felony Murder. 

 

  Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies went to Stubbs residence following the shooting and found Brannen on the ground with a gunshot wound in the head.  Deputies found Stubbs still inside the residence at arrested for the shooting.

 

  A family member said Brannen showed some improvement late last week but his condition worsened over the weekend and he died Wednesday.
