About 9:40 p.m. Saturday deputies with the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team spotted a car on being driven with a suspended registration and no insurance on Georgia Avenue. They followed the car until it stopped in the rear parking lot of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on Statesboro Place Circle.
Master Deputy Mark Guarino said when deputies talked to the occupants, one of them, identified as 19 year old Bryan Anthony Marseille of Centennial Place, spoke with an altered voice. Officers discovered he was choking on something. They managed to dislodge a plastic baggy of marijuana covered with Marseille’s blood.
The marijuana was linked to the driver of the car, 24 year old Karon EddieMcNeal of Garden District Apartments. Guarino said McNeal told Marseille to swallow the packet and tried to help him.
A search of the car turned up a digital scaled believed used to weigh marijuana. McNeal was charged with suspended registration, no insurance, possession of drug objects, tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He had recently been released on bond for felony sale of marijuana.
Marseille was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana, underage possession of alcohol, false identification and possession of a drug object.
