Gunshot victim improving

Keith Wesley BrannenKeith Wesley Brannen  Keith Wesley Brannen of Plantation Mobile Home Park is in a Savannah hospitalrecovering from being shot in the head but he is showing some improvement.


  Fifty-two year James Jeffrey Stubbs of B. Stubbs Road is charged in the BullochCounty Jail charged with shooting 43 year old Brannen in the top of the head during an argument last Tuesday night. 


  Bulloch County deputies responded to Stubbs' residence about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday and found Brannen on the gournd with a gunshot wound.  He was air lifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where is still listed in critical condition.    


 Family members say he is responsive Friday morning.  Although he can't talk he opened his eyes, moved his legs and cried.  Although doctors say he is showing improvement he is suffering from some brain damage.


  Stubbs has been charged with aggravated assault and is being held in jail.  Reports indicate he has an extensive arrest record in Bulloch and other counties.
