Three blood drives this week

Written by  Monday, 21 April 2014 09:40

Three blood drives on the schedule this week.  .

The first is Tuesday at Statesboro High school in the Old Gym.  Hours are from 8 a.m. till 2 p.m.

Wednesday Georgia Southern University will host a drive in the Hanner Building, in Old Gym Room 1305.  Hours from 10:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m.

The week of blood collections will end Thursday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in the adjacent Doctors’ Office Building, in the Mims Monroe Blood Services Center, Suite 307 on the third floor.  Hours will be from 12:30 till 5:30 p.m.

All eligible donors are urged to make an effort to attend one of these drives and donate a unit of blood.  Collections are still down by many thousands after the unusually severe winter weather cancelled hundreds of blood drives throughout Georgia.

The Red Cross is making it easier for those persons who want to donate but are pressed for time.  Just make an appointment for a specific time and location.  To make an appointment by phone, call: 1-800-733-2767 (1-800-Red Cross).  To make an appointment online, go to www.redcrossblood.org and click on Make a Blood Donation Appointment.
