Statesboro City Council meets today

  The Statesboro City Council will hold their regular mid monthly meeting today at 5:15 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.


  The council will consider several motions, among them: 


  Third Amendment to lease agreements with Cingular Wireless for use of water tanks at Paulson Stadium Howard Lumber Company;


  Negotiate an engineering contract to SAPP Engineering for the design of a high pressure natural gas line to be located at the US 301 and I-16 Industrial Park;


  Approve Task Order No. 2 of Professional Services Agreement with Ecological Planning Group in the amount of $75,870.00 to assist the City with the development of Comprehensive Storm Water Management Program;


  Authorize the mayor to enter into franchise agreement on behalf of the City of Statesboro with Pavlov Media;


  Sole source purchase under the state purchasing contract of Motorola radios for Engineering and Public Works not to exceed $25,000;


  Approve Special Event Permit for Georgia Southern University for a Wine and Beer Tasting Benefit;


 Reject bids for a vacuum excavator based on specifications not being met by all submitted bids, and;


  Award a contract to purchase two (2) bi-fuel compressed natural gas trucks to Wade Ford at $26,761 each for a total of $53,522.00.


  Pallavoi Patel is seeking a license to sell package beer and wine at K and J Food Mart at 123 West Main Street.


  Director of DSDA Allen Muldrew and Keep Bulloch Beautiful Kelly Collingsworth will update Council on the plans for “Spring into Statesboro”  including the “Great American Cleanup”.
