Search warrant leads to drugs, guns near GSU campus

 Cory HarrisonCory Harrison According to information from the Bulloch County Sheriff’s last Saturday, in reference to alleged drug sales, investigators with the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the Cambridge at Southern Apartments on Lanier Drive.  Investigators found a quantity of marijuana along with a 9mm handgun and an AK-47 assault rifle. 


  Cory Harrison was arrested and charged with one count of Sale of Marijuana, one count of Possession of Marijuana (misd), and two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. 


  The release said Lanier Drive, an area of high student population and adjacent to Georgia Southern property such as Paulson Stadium, is a priority area for the Crime Suppression Team.  Part of CST’s mandate is to target violence and the drug activity which often spawns such violence in these areas.
