The Starlights, Statesboro First Baptist Church’s big band orchestra under the direction of Stacey Brown, will highlight F1rst Friday.  Their appearance is sponsored by East Georgia Center for Oral and Facial Surgery.

F1rst Friday gets underway at 5:30 p.m. on the Bulloch County Courthouse Lawn.  The Averitt Center for the Arts will present a sneak peak of “The Velveteen Rabbit” and “The Music Man”.   There will be plenty of local vendors, selling a variety of items.

F1rst Friday is presented by the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.

Saturday morning the Mainstreet Farmers Market will kick off another season in the Charlie Olliff Square in the parking lot behind the Sea Island Bank.  Debra Chester, market chairwoman, said there will be plenty of locally grown food for sale and lots of entertainment.   The market has a new manager, Beth Harrell Akin.

In May the Farmers Market will add Tuesday nights from 5:30 till 7:30 at the Honey Bowen Building on Max Lockwood Drive
