Statesboro Police Release Annual Report

The Statesboro Police have released their 2013 report with full information, numbers, and statistics on the years’ events. The 48-page report includes the number of citations given to drivers and information on crimes and investigations for the year. Here are just a few of the interesting facts included in the report. Over the year 2013, Statesboro Police patrolled over half a million miles and made over 2,000 arrests. They have also issued 9,053 citations and 153 DUI reports.

Among the top traffic citations, 1,714 were for seat belt violations and 1,528 were for speeding. At a distant third place was failure to obey traffic control device, for which 349 citations were issued.

The crime suppression unit was hard at work in the year 2013. The total street value of drugs seized by investigators in the year was $243,155.03.
