Ogeechee Technical College supporters got the good news Thursday that Tuesday's annual iGOT (I Give to Ogeechee Tech) fundraising campaign was a success.

Barry Turner, OTC's vice president for college advancement, told a gathering in the lobby of the Joseph E. Kennedy Building yesterday that $311,183 have been raised since Tuesday.  That, he said, is an increase from 2013 when area businesses, faculty and staff of Ogeechee Tech raised $304,571.

The money is used by the Ogeechee Technical Foundation to provide scholarships and emergency funds for students, purchase essential education equipment and to provide staff development for employees and other critical needs.
