Suspect Charged in Death of Four Month Old

Written by  Wednesday, 19 March 2014 13:20

Last year on September 12th deputies responded to a mobile home in the 2000 block of Old Register Rd along with EMS for a 4 month old child reportedly not breathing. The child was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center where he died.  According to a recent press release, investigators responded to both the scene and the hospital and conducted interviews with the father of the child, Allan Ray Williams, 29, who indicated that the child had choked while drinking a bottle in his crib and that upon noticing the child in distress he called for help.

Based on multiple interviews with Williams and others, along with the processing of the residence, and autopsy evidence, inconsistencies appeared in Williams’ story.  Williams was charged with Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree and Making False Statements.  After evidence in the case was presented to the Grand Jury, the charge of felony murder was added on March 16th. Williams remains in custody with no bond at the Bulloch County Jail.
