The 4th annual rodeo is coming to town

  The Hedrick Rodeo Company of Madisonville, Tenn., will make its return for the 4th annual Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo in April.  In addition to the usual rodeo events a new barbecue contest will be on the schedule this year.

 

  Saturday, April 12, people will fire up the grills as part of the “Bulls, Broncs and BBQ” contest.  Prizes totaling $2,600 will be awarded to the winners.  To compete participants will pay a $150 entry fee.

  The rodeo will present two performances this year…Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12.  Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.  They shows will begin at 7:30 each night.  Tickets at the gate will be $15 for adults and $10 for youth.  Anderson’s General Store will have advance tickets available for $13 for adults and $8 for youth.

 

  This year’s rodeo will feature new broncs, new bulls, new contestants and a new clown, Jason Farley and his life sized puppets the “Farlettes”.  Miss Rodeo USA, Lisa Swenson from California, will also be there.

 

  The Statesboro Kiwanis Club will hold their Rodeo Pageant March 29 in the conference center at Springhill Suites.
