Trek for Trykes 5K benefit race Saturday

Written by  Friday, 07 March 2014 11:19

The Trek for Trykes is sponsored by AMBUCS, a national service organization with a newly chapter in Statesboro.  Proceeds from the race will go toward helping people in need to purchase the three-wheeled adaptive and therapeutic AmTrykes.

The Savannah chapter of AMBUCS, The Therapy SPOT, originated the idea of the benefit race.  Swim.Bike.Run Statesboro is co-sponsor and have said they will assemble all the AmTrykes in Bulloch County.

The 5K benefit race is scheduled for 8 a.m. this Saturday at Mill Creek Regional Park. Three AmTrykes will be given away.  A total of 10 children who are registered and fitted by trained therapists will be placed on waiting lists for future giveaways.

Runners can go to to register or stop by Swim.Bike.Run Statesboro

or The Therapy SPOT for more information about the race, help to raise funds for

additional bikes or learn more about AMBUCS.  Call (912) 681-7768.
