Crime Suppression Teams makes multiple arrests

  A total of 20 people were arrested Thursday night and Friday morning following investigations into various illegal activities.  The arrests were made by the recently formed Statesboro-Bulloch County Crime Suppression Team…collaboration between the Statesboro Police Department and the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.

  The arrests began Thursday following an investigation into the sale of heroin.  CST investigators went to a residence at 147 Valley Road in Statesboro and contacted Vernard Parker Vernard Parker the owners, Michelle Geis Parker, 48, and 45 year old Vernard Andre Parker.  He was arrested and charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute after admitting to having several bags of heroin.  She was charged with possession and/or use of a drug related object. 

 

  A news release from Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office said “These arrests highlight changing trends in illegal drug sales and use in our community.  A major focus of C.S.T. is the disruption of such trends.”  It also stated that CST members continued throughout the night and arrested an additional 18 people on various charges ranging from outstanding arrest warrants to possession with intent of various drugs.
