Blood drives this week

Written by  Monday, 24 February 2014 10:25

The first of the three drives is Tuesday at Georgia Southern University in the F. D. Russell Ballroom, Room 1042, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Ogeechee Technical College will host Wednesday’s blood drive in the Conference Center-Occupational Studies Building, Rooms 1 & 2, from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m.

Blood collections for February will wrap up Thursday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in the adjacent Doctor’s Office Building in the Mims Monroe Blood Services Center, Suite 307.  Hours will be from 12:30 till 5:30 p.m.

Potential donors are reminded there is a real need to turn out for one of these blood drives.  The severe winter weather has forced the cancellations of hundreds of drives resulting in the loss of many thousands of units of blood and platelets.  Supplies are in extremely low inventory.

If time is a factor you can make an appointment by calling 1-800-733-2767 (1-800-Red Cross).  You can also make an appointment online.  Go to /  Click on Make a Blood Donation Appointment.
