According to a police report Weaver stabbed Wiggs several times in the torso killing him, then turned the knife on his wife Lashika Weaver stabbing her “multiple times in a similar manner”.

During the incident two children, a 13 year boy and a 9 year old boy, suffered minor cuts during the incident and were treated and released by Emergency Medical Service personnel who were called to the scene.  Two other children, another 9 year old boy and a 15 year old girl, were not injured.   All four were under the care of Mrs. Weaver at the time.

Police say the Weavers are married, but separated.  Dennis Weaver was living in Twin City at the time of the incident.  The report said “Mr. Wiggs was in a relationship with Mrs. Weaver and were both at the residence at 3 Hart Lane in Statesboro with four children when Mr. Weaver entered the residence” about 9:30 Friday morning and stabbed them several times with a knife.

Wiggs was pronounced dead at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.  Lashika Weaver was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where she is in critical condition.

Weaver was arrested at the scene and charged with murder and aggravated assault.
