2013 Statesboro Police Departmental Awards

  Several members of the Statesboro Police Department were honored during the 2013 Departmental Awards Presentation in the City Hall Council Chambers during the City Council meeting Tuesday morning.  Mayor Jan Moore, City Manager Frank Parker and all five members of the council were in attendance.

 

      Those honored during the ceremony were:

Kelly Yaughn                                    Support Person of the Year

Officer Louis Parker                          Rookie of the Year

Detective Keith Holloway                 Detective of the Year

Lieutenant Charles Forney                 Supervisor of the Year

APO Craig Coleman                          Officer of the Year

Captain Tom Woodrum                     Meritorious Service

 

  A framed and matted presentation of the recent Moments cover story titled “Love on the Line” was presented to Corporal Dena Colson and Fire Prevention Chief Chris Colson.

 

  Director of Public Safety Wendell Turner and Police Major Scott Brunson presented the awards.  Turner spoke highly of each award winner and concluded with praises for all of the Officers and Support Staff at the Statesboro Police Department for continuing to excel in their duties and responsibilities.
