The 61 year old managing partner of the accounting firm was recognized for his many year of service to the community including his eight years on the Bulloch County Board of Education. During his two terms which concluded in 2012 six new schools were built at a cost of over $100 million dollars.
Mill Creek Regional Park was built while he served as chairman of the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation.
Over the years Hill has held offices with the Statesboro First United Methodist Chuch, Forest Heights Country Club, the Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County, president and chairman of the United Way of Southeast Georgia and president of the Rotary Club of Statesboro.
Howard Lumber Company, in business since 1898, was named the Small Business of the Year. Arthur Howard said the business actually began on the other side of town but later moved to its current Gentilly Road location. The retail store started about 25 years ago.
Rick Robins was named the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year. He and his partner Sally Minton own ‘Boro Take-Out Express.
