Memorial drive for Chloe

Written by  Thursday, 19 December 2013 10:48

This past November 3, ten year old Chloe Moon Dart was riding a horse with her family on Old Register Road near Old Register Way when something apparently the horse and it started running toward the road.  The Sallie Zetterower Elementary student was thrown onto the roadway when the horse suddenly hesitated at the road.  In an attempt to avoid hitting the horse a pickup truck swerved but struck Chloe instead.  She was pronounced dead at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

The Iron Order Motorcycle Club of Statesboro, a not-for-profit club, will conduct a drive this Saturday to raise money to buy a memorial headstone for Chloe.  The group will be in front of Ryans’ restaurant on U.S. Highway 80 East from 10:45 a.m. till 9 p.m. accepting donations from the public.

In addition to cash checks will be accepted.  They should be made out to The Iron Order Motorcycle Club.  All money collected during Saturday’s drive will go to Chloe’s family to be used to purchase the memorial headstone.
