BOE legal information and work sessions

  The Legal Information Session will be from 6 till 7  P.M. in the Cafeteria at the William James Educational Complex located at 150 Williams Road.   That will be followed by the Board Meeting the Board Room at 7:15 P.M. at the Central Office at the same location. 

 

  An overview of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment and how it affects school system employees while carrying out their official duties will be presented at the Legal Information Session.  Public questions from a recent meeting will be incorporated and other questions will be allowed.  A news release on the school system’s web page said the intent of the presentation is to clarify the rights and expectations of the employees and move forward to fulfill the mission of the school system. 

 

  The Board will spend the rest of the night with regular business.  Items on the business agendas for the work session include:

 

  Renewal of Facilities Rental Agreement with Compassion Christian Church and BOE in regard to Mill Creek Elementary School;

 

  Renewal of Facilities Rental Agreement with Connections Church and BOE regarding Statesboro High School;

 

  Fundraisers for Langston Chapel Middle School and Southeast Bulloch High School;

 

  Greater Savannah Soccer Officials Association Agreement with Middle and High Schools.

 

  Items to be placed on the table in new business include: 

 

  Proposed 2014-2015 School Calendar and Proposed 2014 Board Meeting Schedule.
