The program is sponsored by the Bethesda House Ministries, Inc., a registered non-profit group dedicated to providing assistance and services to those in need.
Last year the program helped nearly 100 Statesboro families receive such basic necessities as holiday food, toys and gifts as well as warm coats for their children.
To be eligible to receive help certain requirements must be met. They include: an unemployment letter from the Georgia Department of Labor showing receipt of unemployment benefits; a letter from the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) showing receipt of food stamps (or other services) AND all of the people in the household and; a letter from Social Security Administration showing receipt of SSI or Disability benefits. All must be dated within the past 6 months from each of the agencies.
