Fatal crash victim was mother of murder suspect

  Thirty one year old Natina Diane Wright of Titusville, Fl, was a passenger in van driven by 52 year old Kenneth P. Varner of Cocoa Beach, Fl., that hit a concrete abutment when it exited I-16 around 5 p.m. Tuesday.  She and others in the van were on their way to Keysville in Burke County.  Wright died at the scene.  Varner was treated at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro for his injuries.  Another passenger Joy Lanita Wright, 27, of Titusville was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.


  The 14 year old juvenile has been charged as an adult for the stabbing death of her aunt, 49 year old Shirley Elaine Bush Mack, a convicted sex offender.  Burke County Sheriff Gregory T. Coursey said the girl stabbed Mack after being struck by a belt.  The juvenile in at a regional youth detention center in Sandersville.


  Coursey said Mack was convicted in Florida in 1990 of lewd and lascivious behavior with a male child under the age of 16.
