Thirty-two year old John Brantley Morris of Westside Road is free on bail after allegedly trying to hit one person with his car and threatening to kill deputies who were called to the scene.
According to a report filed by Bulloch County Deputy Sheriff Sgt. Jimmy Billings, the incident started when Morris confronted a juvenile hunting in a field on Westside Road about 6:30 p.m. last Saturday. The juvenile called his father who came to the field along with another man where the three men got into a verbal argument. When Morris left he reportedly tried to run over one of the men with his car.
When deputies tried to arrest him, Morris allegedly became irate and combative and resisted arrest. Billings said he used his Taser to subdue Morris who even then threatened to kill everyone.
He was taken to a hospital for evaluation then placed in jail charged aggravated assault, terroristic threats, obstruction and disorderly conduct. He was later released on $10,000 property bond.
The case is still under investigation.
