Rivers Alive is Georgia's annual volunteer waterway cleanup event that covers all waterways in the state including streams, rivers, lakes, beaches, and wetlands. The mission of Rivers Alive is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of Georgia's water resources. Keep Bulloch Beautiful will host its Rivers Alive event to clean up the Ogeechee River and its tributaries at Bulloch County’s 4 boat ramps and Little Lots Creek. On Saturday, October 5, 2013, Keep Bulloch Beautiful will join other groups around the state to conduct litter cleanups in and around the local waterways. Interested volunteers will meet on Saturday, October 5 at 9:00 am, on the Bulloch County Courthouse Lawn and be separated into groups and sent to their assigned boat ramps where they will collect trash from the river banks. For more information or to sign up for this event, contact the KBB office at (912) 764-6147 or visit www.keepbullochbeautiful.org.
