Sylvia Ellison, 41, won a $77,777 prize playing the instant game Silver 7’s.
Ellison, the mother of two, said she just took a chance and just picked one. She said she “took it home and scratched it off.,”
The winning ticket was sold at the Time Saver store on 301 N. Main Sreet.
Ellison, who works at a mental health facility, plans to save her winnings.
The Georgia Lottery instant game Silver 7’s is loaded with cash prizes of up to $377,777.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
